What information we use
For business-to-business prospecting we may use limited information about UK businesses and, where it relates to an identifiable person acting in a business capacity, personal data. This can include a business name and company number, public website, generic corporate email address, business location or service information, public website content relevant to the service we offer, and records of our communications and marketing preferences.
Our prospecting process is designed to favour generic corporate-domain addresses such as info@, sales@ or hello@ rather than named personal or consumer email addresses.
Where the information comes from
Information may come from public sources including Companies House and the business's own public website. We may use search-engine results or a search-data provider to locate an official business website, and DNS information to check whether a business domain is configured to receive email. We do not buy consumer mailing lists.
Why we use it
We use this information to identify corporate businesses that may reasonably be relevant to our local-visibility service, prepare targeted business-to-business marketing, respond to enquiries, administer any customer relationship, and maintain suppression records so that we do not contact businesses or individuals who have objected.
Where UK data-protection law applies to personal data used for prospecting, our intended lawful basis is legitimate interests, subject to the required purpose, necessity and balancing assessment and to the separate electronic-marketing rules. Direct marketing is not automatically lawful merely because it may be a legitimate interest.
Your right to object
You can object to the use of your personal data for direct marketing at any time. If you do, we will stop using it for that purpose. We may retain a minimal suppression record so that your preference continues to be respected. The easiest way is to reply to any marketing email or contact joshua@localvisibilitycare.co.uk.
Retention
Unless there is a reason to keep information for longer, ordinary prospecting records are reviewed and deleted or refreshed no later than 12 months after the last meaningful interaction. Minimal suppression information may be kept for as long as necessary to ensure an objection or opt-out is respected.
Service providers and transfers
We may use suppliers that provide website discovery, hosting, email validation or email delivery. We aim to disclose only the information necessary for the relevant service. If a supplier processes personal data outside the UK, we will use an appropriate transfer mechanism where UK law requires one.
Automation
We use software to help filter business records, verify websites, prepare research and draft marketing material. A human reviews prospect eligibility and substantive communications. We do not use this process to make solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on individuals.
Other rights and complaints
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and objection. You can contact us at the email above. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
